Build a requirements list

- Recovery: how much new data you can afford to lose and how quickly a restore is needed.

Compare the relevant service types
Shared hosting can suit a site whose application and workload fit the account limits. A VPS can provide additional control, but it also creates operating responsibilities. A dedicated server gives you an entire machine, which is useful only when the workload or operational requirement justifies it.

For “unlimited,” ask which fair-use and resource limits still apply. For “managed,” identify the covered tasks. For “backup,” confirm retention and restore access. For any trial, refund or uptime statement, read the current written terms rather than relying on an old article.
For example, a brochure site and a shop can use similar disk space but have very different recovery needs. A shop’s new orders must be protected during maintenance and migration.
Check the move before ordering
